(Can you tell it was trash day in NYC?!)
Finally! A New York Fashion Week post! I haven't been very active on this little blog or on any other platform of media, so most of you probably don't know that I got an invitation to experience a New York fashion show during the hectic time of NYFW. It was my first inviation ever, so how could I turn it down?! I live within a decent amount of hours away from the city, so my momma and I packed up and drove to NYC last Friday.
We'll start off with where we stayed, shall we? As someone who is always looking for an Instagram worthy snapshot the Intercontinental New York Barclay was the "it" hotel! It is a decent price range and a few blocks away from Rockefeller center. The only downside my mom and I found was how thin the walls were in the rooms. But besides that it was such a good stay.
Once we arrived Friday night we were pretty hungry, so we went on the hunt for a good place to eat near the hotel. We came upon Salvation Burger, which was delicious! You will need many napkins for their juicy burgers.
Saturday morning we took our time sleeping in and getting ready for the day. Once we were ready to leave we headed to Chelsea Market to eat. My mom ordered chicken marsala soup from Hale and Hearty Soups while I ordered the "Sofia" sandwich from Cappone's.
After the fashion show we walked a few blocks to a coffee shop by the name Cafe Grumpy. I ordered a toasted marshmallow latte, which of course had the latte art. I mean how could you go to a city and not get latte art?!
This was a short trip and it was solely for the fashion show, so we didn't plan much. I knew we were going to be around the Chelsea area, and I've always wanted to go check out the High Line. So after grabbing a coffee my mom and I lugged around the picks from a crazy good Anthropologie sale and walked the top part of the High Line. If I could recommend anything to a first timer in NYC it would be the High Line. It was so cool being in the city but a level above. It was surprisingly calm and peaceful; completely opposite the normal tourist buzz of the city.
It was my first New York Fashion Week, so it was a very exciting time. Obviously I haven't been as active on the blog because of craziness that is happening in my family's life, but I was really hoping this trip would get me back into the swing of things. Which did prove to be correct because my imagination has been inspired! Now all I have to do is figure out my shoots with this New England sunset time *insert monkey covering eyes emoji*. Anyway, I was invited to the up and coming designer, Yuna Yang's show. Her pieces were absolutely beautiful and inspiring. My favorite had to be the white, floral pant suit that's pictured above. It was definitely an experience I hope to repeat in the near future.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and thanks for reading lovely! xo
